Company History

Connaught has come a long way in 25 years. From our beginnings in 1982 as a concrete repair specialist in Sidmouth, to an award-winning market leader with over 6000 full-time staff today.

But this is just the beginning. Every day we invest in our future to ensure we maintain our leading position in both the social housing and compliance markets.

This investment has laid the foundations for the creation of a much larger business.

Connaugh Compliance Ltd's Water Services Division started with the acquisition of Environment Plus in June 2007 and Watertech & Chloroxytech in October 2007.

Environment Plus History: (Now known as the South West Regional Office)

It was back in 1988 Environment Plus was asked to carry out cleaning to water storage tanks to a hospital for the prevention of legionella. From this our business started. In 1992 when secondary legislation was passed and courses became available we grew from strength to strength through training, qualifications and a sound business base.

To date we now have over 4,000 sites on our books from Hospitals, Nursing Homes, units for the mentally ill to Super/Hyper Markets, Office Accommodation Blocks, MOD, Local Council, The Police Authority and even Public Toilets, in fact anywhere the Health & Safety at Work etc. Act 1974,  where a duty of care applies and where water is used or stored. To this day we still have our first client. With our continued success and expansion, Environment Plus became Environment Plus (UK) Ltd on the 1st March 2000. In June 2007 Environment Plus (UK) Ltd was acquired by Connaught Compliance Ltd. Our services for water and ventilation all revolve around Legionella and only credible suppliers with a proven track record for the chemicals, instrumentation and equipment are used.

This is a voluntary registration scheme jointly provided through BACS and WMS to eliminate the "cowboy element" and satisfy the client of the competency of the provider.

To enhance our knowledge and to keep abreast of new developments we are members of The Building Services Research Institute Association (BSRIA), Heating & Ventilation Contractors Association (HVCA), The British Standards Institute (BSI) and The Water Management Society (WMS).
